Gallery TPW welcomes exhibition proposals from local, national and international artists and curators in all stages of their careers.

Gallery TPW has expanded its media-specific mandate to address the vital role that images play in contemporary culture and to explore the exchange between photography, new technologies and time-based media.

General Information

Artist Fees: Gallery TPW pays artist fees in accordance with the current CARFAC suggested fee schedule, thanks to grants from the Ontario Arts Council, The Canada Council for the Arts, and the City of Toronto through the Toronto Arts Council.

Length of exhibitions: Approximately 4-1/2 weeks

Insurance: All exhibitions are insured against fire and theft

Call for Submissions from Artists and Curators

Call for submissions deadline for 2011: June 15.

Please include the following with your submission:

1. Artist's Statement and Exhibition Proposal: a concise 1-2 page summary of the work submitted.

2. 10 to 20 images - digital format on Mac accessible CD. DO NOT send digital images as Power Point presentations. Time-based work should be in DVD format.

3. All images must be labeled with a corresponding image list describing dimensions of work, media, title and year of production.

4. C.V. or other biographical information.

5. Copies of press reviews and other support material, if available.

6. The dates the work will be available.

7. Self-addressed stamped envelope (S.A.S.E.).

Notification of the results

Notification of the results of decisions will be mailed approximately sixteen weeks after deadlines. Return postage must be included along with your address, postal code, email address and phone number.

Submissions will be returned the same way they are received, unless otherwise notified. If you live in the Toronto area and wish to personally deliver and pick up your proposal, please arrange to do so during gallery hours: Tuesday – Saturday, noon to 5 pm.

Gallery TPW will handle all material with care. However, we are not responsible for loss or damage of material during shipping.

All submissions are reviewed collectively by the curator and advisory committee.
